    Class information

    PE

    • PE will be on a Monday and Friday. Children should come to school in their PE kit on their PE day.

    Drinks & Snacks

Please ensure that your child brings a drink of water (not fruit drinks or squash) to school each day. These are accessible to children throughout the day. Children may also bring a snack for their morning break.

    Homework

Homework will be set on a Friday and will be bought home in your child’s homework book and be returned by next Friday.

In addition to this, please ensure children have regular practice in areas such as spelling and times tables where automaticity will benefit your child.

    • Times Tables Rockstars

    • Spelling Shed

    • Reading

    Reading

It is extremely important for your child to read regularly at home. This not only benefits their understanding of a variety of texts but is a ticket to learning new knowledge, enabling an imagination and having a range of ideas that can be transferred into writing.

To support your child at home with their reading, you could use lots of different questioning techniques. Asking your child to repeat/ summarise what they have read or picking specific events in the book to talk about will help you to understand what they have learnt. You can find lots of example questions to ask your child below.
